New Referendum: do we really need more TDs?

The need for changes to the 1937 Constitution to reflect the new era of a country far removed from the bush telegraph is long overdue. The basic fact that we need a referendum on the numbers of TDs shows the mindset and the flawed thinking of those who originally drafted the document and their failure to delegate authority, beyond the terms of the Constitution. Secondly, the Constitution saw the role of women confined to second class citizens: the same model that allegedly guided the Church ever since the dawn of Christianity. Imagine young females, nurses, teachers and civil servants being forced to resign their posts on their wedding day? How mad was that for a Constitutional imperative or for democracy on this island… But if this was Christianity in its fullness of power, was this following the teachings of Jesus Christ?
